NRFi Internship in Fundraising

Job/Internship Description

About NourishED

NourishED Research Foundation (NRFi) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that focuses on using eating disorder and social justice research to advance the understanding, prevention, treatment, and living conditions related to eating disorders. NRFi prioritizes community-based research, patient narratives, and equal-access treatment options for eating disorders. The foundation aims to empower hope and create a more inclusive and equitable society for everyone.


Role Description

This is a remote internship role within the Fundraising Divison at NRFi. The intern will be responsible for working with NRFi COO Alyx Barnett to identify, recruit, and manage major donors, communication, philanthropy, annual giving, strategic planning, and donor relations. The role involves developing and implementing fundraising strategies, cultivating relationships with donors, and coordinating fundraising events and campaigns.


Qualifications

  • Experience in managing major donors and implementing fundraising strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of philanthropy and annual giving practices.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic fundraising plans.
  • Experience in donor relations and stewardship.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Passion for social justice and equity.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, fundraising, communications).


Role Responsibilities

  • The intern will work closely with NRFi COO Alyx Barnett to:
    • Develop and implement fundraising strategies.
    • Identify and recruit major donors.
    • Manage communication, philanthropy, annual giving, strategic planning, and donor relations.
    • Recruit additional assistance as needed.
    • Reply to all donor inquiries through email, telephone, or social media messaging within 24 hours.
    • Manage social media marketing and promotion until such time as a Director of Marketing is established (and then work with said director to implement fundraising campaigns).
  • The intern will report directly to NourishED COO Alyx Barnett weekly and may asked to provide additional updates to NRFi CEO (Brenna Bray, PhD) monthly or quarterly. 


This is currently an unpaid position with possibility for growth. After completion of the three-month unpaid internship position, successful candidates may be hired on as contract employees to earn a competitive percent of raised funds.
